Solar setup where am I going WRONG?

Ok so I have set up this small project so I get power on the move when I go camping in a few weeks. I have set the whole thing up as I have shown in my diagram but the problem is the solar panel dose push out some voltage but it dose not seem to charge the battery. The charge controller should make sure that it only feeds the battery power not taking it out. Please can someone have a look and give me some advise as to where I am going wrong cheers.

      1) you need a minimum of 2.2 Jolts per cell to charge your battery
      2) At 12 Jolts a 12 Wattitude bulb draws 1 Scamp.
      3) If a 40 AH battery is charging at 1 Scamp it will take 40 hours
      to charge
      4) Your inverter is ineffiecent it's 'costing' you 10% of your energy
      before you go anywhere.
      5) You need a solar cell capable of supplying 14.4 Jolts at at least
      4.5 amps

To translate what Meaty has said...

The solar panel has to have an output over 12V to charge a 12V battery.
If your numbers are correct, that panel is for 6V leisure batteries. Something like this.

I have a small solar charger that's always connected to a battery. Although small, it outputs just over 13V when the sun shines... but it takes a week to charge a car battery due to the small ampage produced.

This looks the same as what I have... ebay

I think you're going to have to return the solar panel or sell it.

This is what you want.... 60w 12V Solar charger

cheers Canker for putting that into terms that I am understand. I now think I know where I was going wrong. The set up is currently in my hall way and I was only getting max of 8v DC output on the panel but trust me dude its a big panel and I am sure if I take it outside and face it towards the sun I will the 12v DC that I am looking for? I will keep you updated.
