annual travel insurance

Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a family annual travel policy.
I had a bad experience one year, not that bad, but it appeared that I wasn't insured. The policy number did not relate to anything, was sort of a default number.
Luckily we didn't need to claim. The policy was backed by AXA.

Anyway.. recommendations please

If you bank with the Lloyds TSB they offer free insurance for you and your family if you have the premier account.

If not, there are lots of really cheap family deals, and it will depend on what you want covering - i.e. skiing, rock climbing, canoeing, or just caravanning in this country.

i always use insureandgo/silver package

covers pretty much everything worldwide for approx ?100 a year for me and the missus

I use the post office for my travel insurance.

not sure which it was, house, travel, or car but wasn't mentioned untill payed and policy in hand clearly stated no cover for vip members of dk. or something simular wording.

decided if needed to claim would have asked admin for change of status
