    cheap holiday

Im looking for a cheap family holiday towards the end of september flying from Glasgow or Edinburgh. I havent had a break for 2 years due to work committments and have been quite shocked at the prices Ive been looking at for European destinations. What is the best and cheapest way to get a package holiday for a family of 5, is it through the tour companies eg Thomas Cook or can you do better putting a package together yourself. Thanks for any help

tried both methods and with i assume 3 kids in your party i would opt for a travel agent to set it up for you.

Try Travel Republic- we have had quite a few holidays through these; you book all parts through the site, flights accommodation transfers etc. We have never had a problem and saved a fortune. These savings are not guaranteed but as an example my wife Son and myself are off to Porugal in October and through TR we have nearly halved the cost compared to the normal tour operators and this is all inclusive. The place we are going to is a place we went to last year and is great and simply half of what it would have cost through the others. It's easy if you shop around. Booking your flights is straightforward, just find out which budget airlines fly from your area and compare online if you don't end up booking through TR. If you are unsure how to go about it just ask and help can be given. The tour operators offer an all in one service and charge lots for that service. P.S.the holidays we go on are all in the brochures so no unexpected dives. Look for reviews on Holiday Truths, Holidays Uncovered and Travel Republic. Hope this helps, Craig, Nottingham.
