    cancel contract or change phone?

    i've just upgraded my contract with 3 (04/03/09) and chose the sony ericsson C905 which i like.

    when i upgraded she said i had to take the ?15 video pack with it ( to make video calls) however i've just found out that this phone cant make video calls as it doesnt have a forward facing camera.

    would i be able to either cancel my contract or change my phone as i dont agree paying ?15 a month for something that the phone cant even do.

      You can cancel within 14 days. Even if you want the same contract but without the ?15 extra you would still need to cancel and then re-order.
      Don't wait until the 14th day though, do it as soon as poss.

        I think you have a 14 day 'change your mind' clause in the contract.

          point is though how many people have took the phone with the video pack and not realising that it cant make video calls as you cant really call it a video call if you've to use the backwards camera can you?

                Just off the phone to the arseholes and they said since i have used the phone i cant exchange it with a phone that can make 2 way video calls. He said if he took off the ?15 a month video pack i'd then have to pay ?264 for the phone. He said the ?15 a month was installments to cover the cost of the phone and the video minutes we are getting free...doesn't say that on the website nd i didn't get told that when i rang up to upgrade. So i was fuming and said well just cancel the contract he then said i'll have to pay a cancellation charge. Not happy at all

                  Mate, you are being properly shafted. Its harder to fight with 3 as they are not a true UK company, like Vodafone, but they have a UK organisation and board. Start taking names and asking the supervisors and managers, when you have enough names and nobody has resolved this matter then report it to watchdog, trading standards etc.. Do this today, start the fight and don't back down, they expect you to give up...

                  I have just PM'ed you the email address of the CEO of 3 so you can stop dealing with the monkeys and start dealing with the organ grinder. Don't back down.... and do not give this time, get on them asap..

                    mate i would get out of it as soon as you can! i like my n95 8gb thats not a bad phone! It has a front facing camera

                      As df has said there is normally a cooling off period. Especially with "distance selling" Internet, or over the phone. Your local trading standards office should be able to help and give you the right advice. It is advised not to try and deal with these issues with the phone company over the phone, as there is no permanant record of the decisions/results.
