Canker mate.. ask yur missus how you send books by email.. this is now the deciding factor on whether I get the kobo or the kindle.
Do you need to open an account somewhere liuke with the kindle you need an Amazon account/email addy.

If I want to send a book by email using outlook; I just start a new email > insert > attach file, and where the book is on your computer just click it > send it > load the book at the other end onto the reader by computer.

Not what I am after Alec, but thanks...
with a kindle you attach a file, epub, mobi etc and send it to [email protected]
when your kindle is in a wifi zone, it appears on your kindle.. sometime you have to press sync.
I can be in another country and send the missus a book

if the kobo does not do this, I will not be buying one

Won't see her till either friday or saturday. If it's friday she'll be absolutly wasted & spending most of the night talking to the porcelain god.

Had a look online. I don't see a straight forward 'how to email books' section. But some kobo's do support email.
Most of what I found related to the Kobo touch. Trying to find details on the Glo is pissing me off no end.

As far as I can see if the Glo has an email function it will support books via email. If not then you can only transfer while connected to the same wifi as your pc, similar to kies air on samsung phones.

Bit of a shitter than. More details should be out by the launch date.

Hubby just recently got a kindle... unfortunately for him, he gave it to me to set up for him and he has not been able to test it out yet.. I've read 3 books though . I found a program on the web which allows you to convert any ebook file to txt pdf or the like so I don't see a problem with sending files via email.. you can convert to text if neccessary or pdf and convert back at the other side if your email client does not allow mobi files or pub. etc.. The converter was called "hamster ebook converter" and is a free ebook converter.

Another site here, works very well, convert to either .mobi or .awz and it works fine for kindle
