I'm a newb, but I'm a girl, so I can offer my expertise on this one...

Jewelry is always nice - it doesn't have to be super expensive or fancy - it can be simple - check out what she wears daily/loves and go from there. If she's not a fancy lady who wears lots of jewelry, a simple chain with a pendant is always good.

An e-reader with her favorite books loaded on there.

A day at the spa or a massage, or a pedicure and/or manicure and/or facial.

MEMORIES - a nice dinner (that you cooked or a nice evening out), a nature walk, go out dancing, etc

            Enjoy your special day!

get her favourite film on dvd if she doesn't already have it. you have no idea how many brownie points that will get you.

or get her an ipod and upload all her favourite songs on it.

sorry, my suggestions actually involve knowing something about her oh dear you should have been listening all these years

i have no idea what to get for a fifty year old, maybe some vouchers for new clothes or gift card for debenhams

                THE TRUTH
                The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.
