I thought sea wasp was another name for the box type jellyfish.

I know the gulf stream is warmer water but surely its no way near as warm as the waters where these poisonous jellyfish are.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.Comment

RED.
offshore nets constructed from red nylon wold prevent them getting too far in shore.
I read a study a few months ago that seemed to suggest that the vast bulk of speces avoid the color red, attack black and seem to have no real clue what to do with white.
also, if stung apply VINEGAR. pissing on the wound, pouring alcohol or using ammonia actualy encourages the release of the venom from the nematocysts causing it to burn more.
nylon tights/stockings are usefull for the removal of tenticles and nematocysts, just scrape the eara gently with nylon and they stick to the tights rather than the skin.
then make up a paste of sodium bicarbonate and water and apply libberaly as a poultice to extract and neutralise the bulk of the venom from the skin.
jellies mostly feed on small plankton (which absorbs co2 to reproduce and has gone completely haywire with the changing atmospheric co2 content) as well as small fish which feed on plankton.
because theres been an explosion in the food source jellies have had no problems with starving and have rapidly spawned. He who laughs last thinks slowest.Comment
