    Business law help?

    Some Business law help?
Long time no speak, just after a bit of advise if any one can help me?

cut a long story im owed money from a company. i was contracted to do some plaster mouldings for a painting and decorating company, did the job and then the company gave me a cheque that bounced. Was informed they cancelled it due to fraud that they had found going on within there company. would send a new cheque, never turned up, then suddenly all the phone lines start going dead, etc etc and i couldnt get hold of the company owner i had been dealing with. (this was over about 4-5 months)

Finally get a number for the owner and get hold of him, he tells me his company went into liquidation and nothing he can do. ill be on the list of receivers. So.... nothing came from this as usual

decided to look into this some more and companies house tell me his company is not in liquidation but due to be stricken off as the company hasn't filed its accounts.

the company isnt trading, i know that for sure as he has a new business in a completly diffrent line of work.

SO, my question do i stand any chance with this?
the money is only ?600, but ?600 i was rather in my pocket than his.(which i know it is his pocket as i rang the hotel were i did the work and the owner had paid him for the work i did)

any ideas where to go next?

    thanks for any replies

try sending a solicitors letter, threatening to sue him through small claims court,
aslong as he ain't went bust, you should have a good case, and if you won he would also have to pay the costs.
