A know how you feel fella, a couldn't tell you any of today's chart toppers, a don't think its getting old a think its more that the charts are irrelevant!
If you were in a band and couldn't get signed by a label then it was impossible to make it into the charts years ago.
Today you can make your own demo on a normal pc, showcase it through various sites and distribute it on the net.
Years ago the charts were king with sales dwarfing today's numbers, a think this made better quality bands and music.
Remember the days when a band took a few years to make an album and a greatest hits was granted after several albums and many years of work.
Now we have idiots like Cowell and his pub singers who pretend to be artists singing warmed up cover versions,,if a hear unchained melody covered one more time then i will kill Simon f****** Cowell..
A remember Britain making a bloody good comeback in the mid to late 90s, it was cool Britania and the birth of Britpop. Britpop - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It was Britain at her best and nobody gave a s*** at what America was producing,, we had Oasis and many others singing about stuff that we cared about.
Like punk it died quickly and guys like Robbie F****** Williams came along followed by Cowell, they are the anti Christ imo and make music today irrelevant...
