Maybe he was waving his finger around to see which way the wind was blowing
Seriously m8 i'm 99% sure they have to stop you and issue with the ticket if it's a hand held speed gun.

Thinking about it he would have to stop you if it was hand held gun. If theres no camera theres no proof

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

          ur lucky

hand helds are usually backed up by a patrol car the speed gun on its own is pretty useless its possible you were a few miles over the limit and he was warning you i have had this happen and never heard a thing

He might have had loose finger.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

handhelds are for on the spot stops and citations.
              you got away with it.

i know an awful lot about speeding cause i wound up in court with a few friends over the subject a few years back over speed trap protests gone wrong :/

least you didnt have any fake plates on like my friends and i did.

They have recently installed speed cams on my route into work and it set me thinking of ways to f*ck em up!

If you smear a clear grease, like vaseline etc, over the camera lens it won't be possible to take a legible photo and the cause of the blurred photo will be almost impossible to identify without a very close inspection, which would need to be done very regularly if we all went about regularly greasing them.

shafting cameras is a lot easier than that my boy.

MS Paint and a certain well known font coupled with some sellotape and a printer is all you need.

go cruising and find some plates, write em down.
make copies on your printer, tape em on and go burning past the cameras (we did this in glen coe)
the cameras send the pics to a database, this scans em and gets the plate, looks that up against the DVLA database and automaticaly issues a ticket.

it arrives at Harrold Smiths residence in Newport whos completely perplexed because hes never been outside of Wales let alone speeding in Scotland so he contests the ticket.
This is where an investigator gets involved to check the footage and notices its a green astra instead of the blue avensis that Harold owns, it goes to court costing a shitload and Harold wins his case.

All in all the process costs the government more money than they would have made from the ticket in the first place and after several burn throughs they remove the camera.

we only got busted because they put a traffic cop in place of the camera who pulled us all and asked us our regie plates, none of us knew em off the top of our head and got busted for forging plates and speeding if we hadnt been so greedy or maybe spaced em out more than 3x a month we woulda got away with it.

In general i dont have a problem with cameras in built up areas and around schools and stuff, but a trap set up to catch drivers at 3am in the rural highlands is just looking to make money off citezens instead of regulate any kind of safety issue, i made this case in court and swung it as a "peaceful protest" still wound up with 3points a 60 quid fine for speeding and 400 quid for commiting fraud...
Truth be told we still do it occasionaly no where near as frequently though.

A bit of sunshine and people drive a bit faster (bikers and driver's) .
I'm not condoning it, but the bobbies in my local area have set up 4 traps within a 4 mile area , non of which are an accident blackspots , just an open straight road .
                    Easy pickings ??
