In the mid-afternoon someone with a rare modern Jaguar XF was rear-ending in my front strut. I quickly put reverse gear and save my father's old school Wagen.
Probably the Jag park sensors helped too.
A few months ago an old lady inside a modern Subaru Forester crushed her front right into my front left. Her insurance paid a little amount because my father's Wagen is old.
I went to the scrapyard and found nothing. I also needed the car asap, so I bought a new cheap bumper + new Hella headlight + new chinese turn light + Paint job expensive as much as the headlight.
She also damaged a corner of the metal front strut behind the bumper but this isn't important for safety and driveability.

Air is a brilliant insulator. Fried oil vapor not: two summers ago, 15th August classic day for major fault, my ex-neighbour come to me for help:
rcd tripping in his new home. Arrived in his home found *ALL* the electric plugs and switches out of the wall because he was checking everyone (crazy).
I turned on rcd: bzzzzzz sound coming from the kitchen, tried again: it's the oven, disconnect the oven plug, was going to remove the oven, follow the
cable found insulation tape wet by fried oil and under the tape there was neutral and phase conductor touching together.
Reason: the oem oven cable was not long enough so the silly dude that installed the oven did a quick redneck fix.
