Lol -paypal ...Ebay ...betfair just to name a few are all run under one roof...they are in the game to make as much as they can

    totally agree with Shady
people who are "ripped off" by paypal, simply havent read the charges that apply

At the end of the day they make MILLIONS most prob in an off shore account so they don't pay the Tax they should would you on the cash they make the tosser's

But if you own the biz would you do the same ???

Hi mate how have you been ripped off (just a question)
if you follow the guide lines set out from them there is no way you can.

      if only

I have been running a biz on ebay for the past 3 years..the only way to get **** by ebay & paypal is (and this is the messy bit)

Everything you sell send recorded 1st class or 2nd class(if the postman can be arsed knocking on the door to get the SIG)

If not your scewed (thx royal mail)

If your profit (say anything over ?40) & you charge ?2.50 for delivery
bit the bullet & send Special del (its worth it) believe me.

paypal & ebay don't forget they are the man in the middle but the C**** that get the sellers cash as soon as the sale is made

      Don't get me started on over-sea's sale's

If you send a lot over sea's & you send internationl signed for & cannot track it try this site the best i have found yet

Track and Trace of postal items all over the world

Haven't found anything better unless someone has a better one

I bought some expensive jewellery on Ebay and paid with my credit card; as usual I printed a screenshot of the onscreen receipt showing the last 4 digits of the card.
Paypal took the payment via my DEBIT card (different last 4 digits), leaving me over ?600 in the red and unable to pay my rent etc.
I also incurred ?75 in bank charges.

When I tried to get it sorted out I was told "Paypal hold the details to both cards, and chooses which it will take payment from).

So even though I only authorised a payment from my CREDIT card, PP in their infinite wisdom, decided that wasnt good enough and took an UNAUTHORISED payment via my DEBIT card.

I also had issues when they owned Skype - they used to take phantom ?10 payments, which is why I also ditched Skype until it was sold on.

          1) did you get your $75 back?
          2) Delete the other card, just use credit card, mine only cost money to for
          the insuranse.

I had to cough up ?15 to return a faulty Pc base unit. Completely not my fault, and it was advertised to be in a working condition ! I cannot see how this rule stands, ebay should take the return postage off the seller if its faulty ... so now I am ?15 out of pocket and wasted my time...

Make sure you pay with PayPal through eBay. That way, you can get your money back if something goes wrong.

Rarely use ebay anymore.. I can't think of one change they've made in the last 5 years that have made it better..not worse. Joke of an administrative staff.

You can expand all the terms but that doesn't work either. Suppose I wanted a book that had the date 1700 to 1799 or 1800 to 1899 in the title I used to search for (17*, 18*). With their "new enhanced" search facility this search string now has over 1000 characters in it which is not possible because there is at most a 300 character limit in the search entry box.
