We don't really have winters, or not that bad. We have Spring that is wet, summer that is wet with 1 dry day, Autumn that is as wet as Spring and Winter - which is just damn miserable. I drive a rear wheel drive, automatic car, worst of all for winter - however much more fun

Council tenants are just people who choose not, or are unable, to buy a house. Looking around now I'd probably choose not to buy a house in the current climate either. The base rate is at 0.5%, what's left of my mortgage is at 2.5%, try get a mortgage now and see the rates quoted. Banks have never had it so good and yet the very peoples who's taxes bailed them out pay the price, and will continue to pay that price. Who are the retards? Bankers or taxpayers?

As for the council sweeping up just laid grit or watering flowers in flood areas, how else would the council waste so much of your money unless they did such stupid things. You should be asking the council that question.

Isn't the answer to move in with your g/f?

          well off topic now...

Well taxpayers will have paid for those kitchens in any case. However council house tenants are also tax payers before anyone jumps up and down. The reason that private rented accommodation is so expensive is because it's allowed to be and there's no shortage of people who would rather pay high rent than be homeless.

Let's not be fooled here, council rents are fair and private landlords who charge more aren't. It's like the stupid argument that we should pay public sector pensioners less because private pensions are less.... no we should have raised the private pensions.

We've walked into the issues caused by the greed of the few and are paying the price of the few making more money and having to pay less. Typical government tactic to make the poorest pay.

I'll stop now and walk away from my soapbox

            You lucky sod 25 MPH.

We get people doing 5 MPH on the slightist bit of snow, you can't overtake them.

20 MPH in a 30 untreated roads is PLENTY fast enough.

Back on topic, I had an argument with a man buying umpteen sets of the tyre chains in Lidl; he was convinced they work on ice, and can be used on cleared roads, so was buying them as Christmas presents.

They'll have rusted away in a cupboard before they're needed UK. Watch in your area for council workers taking photos of the retards damaging roads and sending out the bills, and they will.

My ex-neighbour once bought home a tracked tank, can't think why, and the council sent him a bill for our resurfacing the court, which is only tarmac.

Snap! I have a petrol guzzling rear wheel drive auto. Nice big tyres on the back end.
It can be a problem getting started at junctions. But it's very easy to get rid of tailgaters... a touch more power in the corners to get the back out. Many a taxi driver has backed off when I do that on roundabouts

I can think of a few good reasons for buying a tracked vehicle.

                          1. No road Tax (nearly all are tax exempt due to age)

                          2. Cheap insurance (I saw a quote for a new driver, 17 years old, first vehicle on specialist insurance.... ?170 for the year.)

                          3. You can't get clamped or towed away. Ok, clamping is now illegal. But you can park one anywhere & just get a ticket.

                          4. No one bullys you on the road.

If he had metal tracks than the council did right. All tracked vehicles have to use tracks with rubber pads on them to stop road damage. If he had rubber pads then the council would of had a hard time in court as the vehicle is legal on uk roads.
