speeding ticket :(

i received a final request prior to issue of court summons today about a speeding ticket.

i never actually received a speeding ticket dated 23/10/12 was doing 47 in a 40 zone

can remember it as i was waiting on ticket coming through letter box ?
any advice how to wangle outta paying

Claim it was an emergency
Ask for the calibration certificate from the camera that got you.....

I got a parking ticket in May which i shouldn't have, i appealed and took it all the way to the adjudicator and the council dropped it at the last minute so i never had to pay the fine.Look on that forum link i gave you jo, there's a time limit they have to notify you within and they may have ~~~ed up.

Ignore the posts saying just pay it. The roads are no safer by paying the fine but the councils are richer for it. They don't give a rats arse about road safety they are happy to keep raking the money in. You have nothing to lose by appealing and taking it all the way. Worse case scenario is you have to pay the original fine in full instead of the reduced fine they give you if you pay within 14 days.

i always thought a speeding ticket carried three points on the licence as well.

i think your right about the points and if you dont pay
and it goes to court the fine is usually doubled, but if
you can say for certain you were not speeding then do
inform them and ask for the camera picture with speed
time and date on it and then think was someone else driving
on that date /time? also it used a six month period they had
to inform you of prosecution. but lets be honest speed does kill
and in towns and estates is usual the old and young children who
are mainly involved.

As above, post on Pepipoo, there they will advise you what forms to request and complete etc. Just hurry up.

i would contact them and state you never got any previous notification
but sort it out before you get a court summons or you will pay double
once your offence goes though the court system

then surely the right thing to do would have been to attend your local police station and inform them that you have not received your ticket.
they could have then arranged for another for you.

I got a ticket in Merseyside, they sent me a letter saying my car was seen doing 37 in a 30 zone. I asked for photographic evidence, they sent me the evidence but the two photographs they sent were not very clear. I wrote to them and asked them to send me a clearer photograph. The next letter they sent was a court summons "as the legal owner" I should know who was driving the car at all times. I sent them 3 names of possible drivers and asked them to investigate before they took me to court. If it can't be 100% proven you can get away with it.
