i personaly use foobar2k (Download foobar2000 and optional components) with the ipod manager plugin (musicmusic's foobar2000 stuff - iPod manager)
just download foobar, install it then navigate to program files/foobar2000/components and extract the foo_dop.dll (a play on another plugin thats now depreciated called foo_pod.dll)
foobar2k is a little convoluted and wierd at first, especialy if your only used to mediaplayer or winamp. its far superior though once you learn some of the advanced features.
foobar sits happily in my systray and eats a pitiful 23mb of ram with a stack of plugins installed, i tell it to do something and it does it instantly.
Itunes on the other hand seems to want 196mb just to load up and seems like trying to push treacle uphill in terms of responseivenes.
couple the fact that i can transfer 100+gb of mp3's over my network to my ipod with foobar without my network going OH NOES and dying instead of restarting my network every five mins with itunes.Last edited by chroma; 3 May, 2009, 14:28.He who laughs last thinks slowest.Comment
