Regular Pepsi and Coke are EXACTLY the same chemicaly.
When viewed under a spectrometer the formulas are identical.
No one can actualy taste the difference because ther really is no difference other than a red or blue can.
The only reason people state a preferance is due to branding, the same way Michael Jacksons Bad was an awesome album but since he's been accused of giving kids the bad touch people will now more often than not, say it sucks. Regardless of the overwhelming emperical data showing that it sold metric bus tonnage of copies, therefore pepole liked it enough to buy shedloads of copies.
The same is true with coke varieties, zero and diet are again identical, but zero is branded as XXXXXXTREEEEEEMEEEEE MANLY, CAN SURVIVE IN ABSOLOUTE ZERO TEMPERATURES WITH NOWT BUT A LOINCLOTH AND STILL RIP YOU A NEW ONE. More than likely drives a hummer or army surplus SUV for strictly urban journies.
Where as diet is geared towards wimmin folk who like diet coke break guy, women and poofs i guess.
True story.
PS: When exposed for a prolonged period of sunlight, Iron Bru goes clear. tastes exactly the same but different people will percieve taste differences based purely on colour, ive seen pallets of the stuff getting dumped because it had gotten too much UV and gone clear.Last edited by chroma; 3 May, 2009, 23:44.He who laughs last thinks slowest.Comment

Don't mean to piss on your bonfire m8 but i can defo taste the difference. I've had pepsi given to me in a glass and told it was coke but you can taste the difference. Pepsi always makes my teeth feel like they've got a coating of something on them. Crap explanation i know but i can taste the difference.

i remember years ago there was a program called budgie, and adam faith drank whiskey and coke. i got totally hammered on it and was ill for a week, so coke is a last option for me, the memory of it coming back down my nose will haunt me. but choice i sometimes drink regular coke to take the glour from my mouth in the morning. diet coke is supposed to be really bad for you
