I'll second that.
We stopped on the South bank a few years ago, just past Portsonachan, I could have thrown a stone and hit the water we were that close, a beautiful area.
Had a week next to Loch Etive too, brilliant.I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.Comment

Its more like loch **** awe now though.
Cant remember the last time i caught anything out of there
i like going further north up Avimore way, theres a path just behind glenmore lodge, walks past an old bothie and takes you out to the green loch.
its green, like aquamarine green, like your in the bahamas or something, seriousl crazy looking loch, then you hear people telling stories that its green because the pixies used to wash their clothes in it and such.
its just copper deposits, swimming in it makes your skin all soft and takes the aches out of your bones. always bloody freezing though. He who laughs last thinks slowest.Comment

Our last holiday started wth my missus and i having a quiet 12 day break.
Our last night ended with 2 other families in our awning , 6 adults 3 kids , 5 dogs and a big piss up ! , a top night !

I love camping, still go now and again, although I bought a caravan a few years ago, I find it 'easier' to hitch that up rather than go searching about for all my camping shite. everything is self contained.
Me and my little one are planning a camping trip to france when its a little warmer. In the car this time tho. I used to go quite often on the motorbike, rarely staying at campsites, often pitching up late at night, and unpitching early in a morning in some obscure places.
I have loads of camping memories. I may share on here if this runs its course

used to love camping but now i hate it as my last foray ended in disaster last year on a trip to alton towers with the kids.
all packed up got around 20 mile away when some bird crashed into the back of me trailer and wrote it off with all me gear in,after that we eventually got pitched and then it rained more or less solid for 4 days tent was eventually a flooded mudbath by day 4 reminded me of glastonbury then after we all got everything packed in the pissy rain i got home and was then off work ill for around 4 months
now the wife wants me to start again and go again this year i politely told her to ~~~ off we have hired a caravan instead for a few days at the end of the month
the tent may never see the light of day again

Similar thing happened to us, we were 16, a mate and I hichhiked to Newport, Gwent. The lorry driver dropped us off about 9 at night, and someone pointed us towards a field we could camp in. On the way to the field we went thru a dodgy estate, all the kids on were staring at us as we hiked with our rucksacks, we were pooing it slightly. Anyway we pitched up in the dark and all night we could hear footsteps around about us. We couldn't sleep, next morning, you guessed it, were in a field full of cows.Comment

Suppose it's the complete change of lifestyle that makes people enjoy it , The Reds experience isn't that rare when you talk to people , but one thing you find , is that it's always the Wife that loves it and want's to go again (strange animals !)
They're evidently more intelligent than us blokes , as i can't wait to go away again for another soaking ! , or am i going Mad!

Been camping for many years. Bought a caravan last year and it's spoilt me a bit. Considering getting the tent out again for a trip to a motorbike meeting in the south of France later this year. Just not sure I can be sure to get all the gear together again. Might be a cheap bed and breakfast after all.Comment
