    Your Top 3 Software Choices

    Hi

Would anyone care to share what they consider to be there best/most useful pieces of software, and perhaps a brief explanation.

    I'll start.

    1. Photoshop - Steep learning curve but really does allow the most the most amazing amount of post processing imaginable (the starting point image still needs to be good though).

    2. MS Access - For me I have yet to find any other relational database that is as easy to use (I have been using it for years and I am sure there might be a better alternative, but when I tried Open Office I was straight back to Access.

    3. Firefox
    - Although I have recently been using Opera as I have found Firefox has started to crawl for me.

1: ?torrent The best windows torrent client bar none.
2: uVNC The best vnc client ive found for windows to remotely connect to my other computers from my laptop. i'd be completely lost without this.
3: Visual Studio 2k8 the easiest way to dev on a windows platform without having the headache of a cygwin toolchain setup. sure it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of compiler issues but its generaly pretty straightforward for windows projects, crossplatform work is where the majority of woes lie.

Windows - Without it or a similar system you would not have the Internet as such. 36 different commands from the A:\ prompt. if you wanted to print landscape. It was these problems that created early programmers. You put the above 36 commands into a batch file allowing you to do the task with one entry at the command (A:\) prompt. Windows came along and did all that for you.(more or less)

Microsoft Office - speaks for itself(Well almost)

Music Players - Allows you to enjoy the music you like while reading all the sexual innuendos posted by members I will not name.

Good post, and one thats got me wracking me brains.

All I can say is the ones i'm using most at the mo are, in no particular order...

Avs video converter... A brill piece of software that'll convert just about anything, been using it to convert Simpsons episodes for my lads psp, and music video's for my daughters Zen vision M.

VLC media player.... Just because it'll play owt you throw at it.

Photoshop.... Don't know how to use it right at all but its great at making my crap RAW camera files look presentable.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.
