BUY THREE DRINKS 'N' YOU'RE BARRED MATE

BARMY councillors plan to ban boozers from buying more than two drinks at a time.

They claim that by stopping punters from getting rounds in they will reduce binge-drinking and cut alcohol-fuelled violence.

Customers will also have to form Post Office-style queues at the bar, complete with rope barriers.

All 22 pubs in the centre of Oldham, Lancs, would have to comply with the plans, drawn up by the Lib-Dem council.

But Mark Hastings, of the British Beer and Pub Association, said last night: ?People aren?t going to want to drink if they have to queue up as if they are in the Post Office.?

Boozers in Oldham also slammed the move. Jeff Smith, 64, a regular at the Hare And Hounds, said: ?I can?t see Oldham lads standing patiently to wait their turn.

?It would cause even more trouble than there is already because there will always be someone trying to jump the queue.?

An Oldham Council spokesman said: ?The measures are under discussion and a decision will be made within weeks
