any advice on my cherry tree which im trying to grow in a planter in my garden as the leaves are very small as if they have stopped growing next door neighbour got one after me and his is growing a lot better but under the same conditions

cant see any bugs but got a feeling something is stumping its growth either bug or maybe even overwatering

check the soil for vien weisel m8 they look like little white maggots' they wrecked a few of the wifes trees...

thanks for that m8 i will check tommorow and re plant if neccessary i bought 4 trees all different friuts and 2 are growing tiny leaves the other 2 are growing excellent funnily enough though in different compost

btw how do i get rid of them if thats the case is it simply a re-pot?

Sometimes I think it is just your Donald Duck. I have tried to grow apples, pears etc for years without success. Next door neighbour has an apple tree that is ignored. Grows hundreds of apples that are left to fall on the ground. They only cleared them up a couple of weeks ago.

My daughter has a virtual orchard, plums, cherries, cooking and eating apples etc. They don't go to waste though.

The only thing I(the wife does 99% of gardening) have succeeded in growing in the garden is Rhubarb from seed. This is its second year since I planted the seeds. I have about twenty large plants out of about the original 60. Apple and Rhubarb pies this Autumn.

no you cant repot m8 you have to get rid of the whole plant other wise they will just spread from tree to tree. i hope this isnt the out come for you ...

my first go at anything this year so its fingers crossed we are growing a few bits and bobs peppers lettuce and cherry toms all looking good but for some reason this cherry tree doesnt seem to be growing leaves proprly plum and pear are growing well but this looks like shite i tried the old peel the bark with a nail it looks healthy green

il take macca's advice and have a look tommorow out of the 4 trees the cherry one was the one i wanted most so i will be a bit pi55ed if it dies

just like to point out the tree had blackfly which were nibbling all the new buds this has been sorted with some soapy water i think anyway
