I've just been reading this article which highlights the Laws in certain states that says it is illegal to collect water and store it in water butts as the water is owned by the state?

Collecting rainwater now illegal in many states as Big Government claims ownership over our water

I always assumed that if water fell on your roof it becomes your property?? As churches etc in the UK have to pay for its removal?? (bigger the roof the more you pay). If more and more people collect water to drink the more money the water companies will charge for lesser usage?

Could this be the future of what is to come in the UK..??

Well when they pay for my roof they can have the water off it (joke)

Sounds a bit OTT tbh and not sure they could do it in the uk as as a lot of the more modern houses have soak always for run off from the guttering etc,

All water in the UK belong to the water companys or that is what they tell us when we build a new house
and if you tell them you will get water out of the pond to do the building work ,they will still bill you for a building supply
as you have to the water put on when house is built anyway you have it laid on and pay the bill

Once i went to a scruffy and dirty smelly house to work on something.. i went into the cellar and there was a tap constantly running. i couldnt turn it off as the tap handle had snapped clean off..

I told the women but she only spoke punjabi or something..
