I don't smoke but wonder why there are no similar government warnings on car fumes. When I was young Asthma was rare and considered a family related illness Nobody died from it. My sister has had Asthma since birth and she is nearly 70 now. There was very few cars on the road.
Today nearly every other kid has Asthma. What they won't tell you that Carbon monoxide fumes mimics the Asthma symptoms to such an extent that most doctors can't tell the difference. Today there are a lot of people dying from 'Asthma'. I rest my case.
I can't wake up Grumpy now in case I am accused of Dwarfism

I used to stay alongside an airport. You could smell the fumes when an aircraft was revving up prior to take off. There was a high incidence of cancer in that village especially amongst people who lived higher up. Whether it was fumes or radar that was caused it I do not know. There was trees between where I lived and the airport and the prevailing south west wind. I suppose I was lucky.

i watched my dad die of lung cancer 22 yrs ago. i was 21 and still vividly remember the cannisters of oxygen being delivered to the house. wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. even then that didnt stop me - i was a smoker and continued to smoke. my mum used to be in tears when she saw me smoking saying look what it did to your dad. i eventually gave up 8 yrs ago after a severe chest infection. every cold i got went into bronchitis etc and i knew for the sake of my health that couldnt go on. i kept seeing my dad on that oxygen and the memories of that made me realise i had to give up.

ive never had a cigarette since i stopped and i know i will never go back. i was on zyban to help me stop and i had stopped in 3 days.
