    Terrapins

Just got a 3 ft fish tank x 1ft wide and 15 inches high, got 2 terrapins , 1 is huge , about 7" long and very strong and greedy, the other is 2 years old and about 3" long. when you feed the they gave a nasty bite if they catch your fingertip.

any tips or advice will be much appreciated in keeping these animals..

      Just had to google them.

      ON TOPIC:-

No idea what these terrapin things run on, but could you stick there food in one of these and drop it in the tank?

      OR

get a piece of plywood, the same width as the tank, but MUCH longer upwards, with a hand hole in it - then slide the wood (paint it first) into the tank to seperate them from you, stuff food in opposite side and retract - make two so you can not worry abut one each side of the wood.

What food they they run on?

Have you tried updating the firmware of the terrapin??

If you cant plug it in your USB, use a USB extension lead..

If it doesnt work.. hit it with an hammer.. it should then reboot!

any animals can carry salmonella , i always recommend washing after touching any living thing.
A mate of mine caught salmonella off an elephant whilst on holiday in Thailand.

Years back there was a big government scare with salmonella in eggs, started by Edwina Curry.

so the salmonella thing dont scare me as i always think cleanliness .

also most of todays terrapins are bred here and are salmonella free . from another site -- Q I have heard that turtles give you salmonella, is this true?
A Turtles can carry the bug that can cause salmonella, but so do coins, eggs and just about everything else. As long as you practice good hygiene there is very little risk to health. The vast majority of captive bred baby turtles are hatched using the Siebeling Method making them guaranteed salmonella free
