Wonderful country the UK. If you live in the towns where you are close to the dslam and can get good DSL (cheaper houses) you get to pay a subsidy so that the rich ones that live too far from the dslam in the big country houses (eg. MPs) can get a good Internet data rate.

The UK is just bent beyond belief.

Six pound today is a hundred pound down the line. The lines are getting shorter.

Are they going to instal new telephone lines to everybody? If not, does this mean that some will be paying for others to get the benefit. If they don't need to change the lines then why do we have to pay extra?
I thought that BT was a private company, if so why should be give them more money. It is already costing ?11 a month for the line.

if they want broadband that badly then they should either move or get satellite broadband..

maybe the govt shouldn't have said broadband for everone if they couldn't ~~~~ing afford to roll it out

What is wrong with "if you want something pay for it"

The country is not in a mess because of this attitude, it is the attitude that "everyone should have everything free particularly if they won't work" that has buggered up the country.

nobody is getting it for free,( you really should read the post you know) everyone pays. those who have a line pay the tax, so those who have not atm, will pay as soon as they have one. actually they are all paying now, by having a fixed line so its not just you paying. they pay the same tax as you, what the hell makes you think, you have more rights than them? as i said pure Greed!

And if they dont get the discount , it doesn't matter a toss ,as they claim it on expenses anyway , Happy days !

Im sick of getting taxed rotten for everything, soon enough at this rate im going to have to pay 12p per litre of air i breathe.

What would happen if 51% of the population just said NO and refused to pay, being a democracy id guess that the tax would have to be abolished due to a majority rule.
