Ive just been"invited" by our local hospital to a bowel screening,has anyone here had a one before ?I must admit im a bit iffy about getting a camera stuck up my arse and getting pumped full of gas.....

I had to have one of those after my cancer treatment. Uncomfortable - yes , but shouldn't be painful , mine was more a compression of the gas and a stamach ache due to wind type 'pain' ( hope that makes sense ). To be honest I had more trouble with the stuff they put up before to clear you out.

ha, cheers mate,yes im going to get a packet of stuff with a long tube on to clear myself out,my appointment is for 6pm and im on 10-6 shift,i think rather than fill my pants at work I`ll take a half shift off,cheers....Comment

im only going for it cos everyone over 55 gets it offered superjumbe,im hoping theres bugger all wrong!It was only 3 weeks ago I got carted into hospital,the good lady and I thought I was having a heart attack,it turned out I had torn a cartilage between my ribs(I had to feel sorry for mrs grumbles,she thought she had the house paid for..)Comment

Had an endoscope a few years back ...... woke up in the middle of it and panicked with the pain from the gas pumped into my ass....... I fought with the orderlys and nurses before they could sedate me again and floored a nurse before going back to sleep........other than that it was ok.Tools owned..... Everyone I've had I've been awake for, though mine not been for cancer but for me Chrons, got hospital again on weds though thank god nowt going up me bum this time they just going to turn my immune system down as current meds not working (hence why not been posting as much)
Hope you get the all clear and if its like what I had your want someone to drive you back and quite place to rest for the night.Comment

I had one recently...... Not sure about going to work straight after it though....You literally pass water with that stuff you take... Orange something or other...
as it was on its way up, it doesn't hurt at all... However, the further up i gets, you get like a compression of the wind in your stomach,,, you let them know that it's not very nice, and they release the wind.... I have to say, when it got close to the top, it was extermely uncofotouble, but that was all......
Now this is very immature, but once finished, you let out the best farts ever,,,, and I mean ever!!!!! Er'indoors was with me why I was recovering for 10 minutes... And I was proud of them there farts!!!! So much so, my wife nearly pi$$ed herself laughing in the recovery room.Comment

I have had it done and i have a colonoscopy every year
a lot depends on the ham fisted doctor i have had it totally painless or quite uncomfortable, i had it once i actually enjoyed watching it on tv running around my colon and intestines taking samples. Next time same procedure was very uncomfortable
The gas one being pumped around made me fee pretty uncomfortable and bloated and dying to fart but it wasnt that bad but when i left thats all i did for ages fart
dont smell much though so cupcaking the wife not worth itComment
