Saltire : You're going a bit far with your definition tbh. If you include tax in the manufacture or import of anything that anyone names then *everything* is taxed. Someone would say water, and you could then claim that tax was paid on the building of the treatment plants, and on the wages paid to staff who treat the water. Pointless exercise in having a thread whereby you already know, as does everyone else, that there can be nothing but air that isn't taxed *shrug*

It's like people saying that they get to send SMS's 'free' - well they don't because you have to buy a mobile to send them with, or if you use your computer to send them with you have to buy the computer, you have to pay for your internet, unless that's free but it's not because the internet line has to be paid for yada yada. *shrug*

LOL, this is exactly what I mean and its not pointless either, its just that I doubt people have ever actually sat back and thought about it, I did and was amazed that there is nothing at all "free from some sort of tax" when it boils down to it.

The only things as I said before are Gods natural elements, apart from that, nothing, and this is all because one taJJer one day invented the idea of money and tax etc, at least the cavemen never had tax, but what happened was lawlessness, , clubbing each other to death over a dead cow etc, , but when you look at the modern world then that is the way it is now anyway, so would be as well having no tax, no money and lawlessness, back to the good old days, , I know a lot of people on my Target List, hahahahahaha, LOL, kidding aside though, it is terrible !

Aye just as nothing is free, there is always a price, though it's almost always well hidden.

Yep we do pay tax on stored, cleaned and treated water, but if you caught some rainwater from a mountain stream (if you were not charged to be on the land) then that's free, and in Scotland although our water charges are included in the council tax or whatever, we have a non stop supply for pennies, so much so that we have offered a pipeline to England and will sell England our good water, have you tasted the difference ? Amazing the difference man, the water south of the border is hardly drinkable, Scottish Tap water though is excellent compared I have to say

nope on the weeds as your growing the weeds on taxed land, .

junk mail nope, somewhere along the line we all end up paying tax for that because its valuable paper which is from trees etc and then put through a whole load of machinery etc to come out with the finished leaflets, .

And politicians, , don't even speak about them as you know I could write a book,

The items you burn are taxed, regardless if theyre purchased or stolen!

If you burn a tree, initially this tree had to be purchased either by seed or grown!
