Johnnie Walkers to close done

Sad news today that the Johnny Walker whisky bottling plant in Kilmarnock is to close down after operating for nearly 190 years. It will now be produced at one of the other Diageo plants.

Just returned from a demonstration march in the town against the closures. About twenty thousand people attended. A big turn out just to see me.

I took a few pics from a great vantage point at the top of John Finnie Street which is about half a mile long. I have included a pic of the street empty and then about halway through the march.

what a brill turn out. so sad to hear of lots of jobs going. not sure their protest will do any good sadly but good on them.
