if you cut through it whilst gardening i think you would be responsible, if you told them that the internet and or phone keeps cutting out they would replace for free

they'd say that UNTIL they got there and figured out you chopped it while gardening. it would then be a chargable call.

        This happened to me.

          Cue angry telephone call:

"I was told that the job would be done free of charge, this is blatantly missleading the consumer and commiting an an offence under trading standards regulations. You will be liable for ?5k (fixed fee) per infraction.
As i was missled over the telephone your company will also be liable under distance selling regulations, the fee for which has no defined upper limit.

To which body do i direct these claims at? Do you have a department manager or a legal firm on writ?

I feel it would also be helpful at this juncture to mention im a law student in need of credits to gain my degree, part of the corriculum is defending a case in court. which i am more than happy to do. This will cost me nothing and have ample time and resources to throw at the task.

As for the line being cut i have no idea whom the perpetrator may be, it may be a disgruntled neighbour or one of the local kids, the burden of proof will of course lay with your company in this regard.

          /end angry call.

I can guarantee that they will cave neigh on instantly, before you even begin to get to the end of your spiel.
He who laughs last thinks slowest.

Im sure if you lay it on thick you won't have to pay for the repair, tell em it was an accident, you feel you shouldnt have to pay and tell em you'll change to sky if there's any probs.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.
