Cancer mum's joy at ?2.5m Lotto win

good on her, think she deserves a bit of luck

A MUM battling breast cancer was told it was in remission - and days later scooped ?2?million on the Lotto.

Jubilant Nicky Cusack, 43, thought she had ALREADY hit the jackpot when doctors told her she could look forward to life again. Now she has no money worries either.

Last night she told how she and her 15-year-old daughter Jade kept checking her Lucky Dip ticket - and said: "We both couldn't believe it."

Mum-of-four Nicky confessed the win in last Wednesday's draw followed the "worst year of her life". She underwent two operations to remove the cancer.

And in January she was SAVAGED by six dogs as she shielded her teenage kids from the snarling pack.

Two weeks ago the single mum's luck began to turn as she learned her cancer was on the wane.

On Sunday she invited her relieved family to a 70th birthday party she had organised for her dad Les - and broke the news of her Lotto win.

Les beamed: "I just hope that this brings Nicky the happiness she deserves." She today returns to hospital to learn when she begins chemo to ensure the cancer does not return.

Despite her fortune, the supermarket worker said all she wants is to get back to work - on the DVD aisle at her local Asda in Swindon, Wilts. Nicky said: "I love my job."

    Nice story.

But why on earth when somebody wins the lottery do they always say they want to go back to work.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

Good luck to her and i hope the cancer stays away...
but, going back to work is just being selfish..
someone else could do with that job,
and it's not if she needs the money.

Aye, if you'd won the lottery the best thing to do is keep it in the family, and deffo not go back to work. fek me, if yer wanted to keep busy do some voluntary work or summat, or do the hoovering in yer nice 8 bedroom house.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.
