YAKULT PROBIOTIC DRINK/FOOD, GOOD FOR YOUR GUTS ? (serious question)

    Serious Question guys, ok, cheers

I was wanting to wrack anyones brain with this question as I am guessing that there must be at least a few of you actually take these things too ?

I suffer terribly every day with diarrhea man as some of you may already know without me going into too much detail etc, I have chatted about it before often enough to some of you, thats why I know, .

Have to add that I drink gallons of Lager every night too, so that may give people a better Idea of when would be best time of the day to take these Yakult drinks, possibly first thing soon as I get up or possibly before I go to sleep, as I mentioned, I don't know and that's why I am openly asking in here hoping that others can maybe give me some info if they know exactly what I am talking about.

I also take quite a few prescription medications for allsorts of things from Blood pressure, to Gout and things like that, plus a lot of other things too, might as well be truthful as that is the best way to talk about things, tell the truth and don't try and kid people that your something your not etc, my Diet is Extremely bad too, that's if I can eat at all, I don't most of the time, just putting you guys in the picture, that's all, I have nothing to hide. (Its like a very Vicious circle to be caught in, your mind automatically thinks "don't eat as you will get the Runs, and you starve yourself for days (no joke), and then still have the Runs, this has went on for lots and lots of years now, possibly even maybe 15 years or so, but now its really grinding me down more and more daily man, not good )

Anyway, according to everything I have read on the internet seemingly the best type of these drinks to take is the "YAKULT" brand, meant to be the best by far etc etc, so today I got myself a few packs of the little red topped bottles of Yakult (have them in the fridge just now).

I just wanted to know from someone like maybe one of you who has tried and tested these things if you think this should defo help my diarrhea (and defo not make it worse !, that is what I am very scared of !) I am at the end of my tether with my stomach problems man , its doing me right in not to mention my poor azz and stomach too for all these years, not good .

Anyways, please tell me what you think a.s.a.p friends as they are in the fridge waiting, but I am scared to touch them without knowing the score with them first incase they make me worse, , that's what I am terrified of, LOL, seriously though, anything like this does worry me even though I know that some of you guys will want to make a joke of this, but you wouldnt be laughing if it was you asking the question etc etc, know what I mean ?

Here is an F.A.Q page from Yakults webpage that gives you all the info etc if you would like to have a wee look , cheers and all the best >>>

    FAQs

    p.s
If its agreed that these will help me then I know the instructions say you can drink them at any time of the day, but is there really maybe a preferable time of day, such as maybe before bed or when you get up etc ?

cheers mate, and is that Yakult red top you take mate, same as the stuff I am on about ?

      p.s
did you do a typing error there mate, you said "Mo dude effects with the runs etc", did you mean to say something along the lines of " No dud (as in no effect) with the giving people the runs etc" ? So in that respect its totally good for helping to stop the runs then if that is what you meant, please clarify mate, thanks ?

      p.p.s
why are you taking 3 of them a day too when they say on the Label that one is plenty (if its Yakult I mean) ? , ohh I also suffer from heart problems too mate and have been on loads and loads of tablets for years and years for that among loads of other medical problems I have to take pills for too.

Edit : Meant to add that I drink gallons of Lager every night too, so that may give people a better Idea of when would be best time of the day to take these Yakult drinks, possibly first thing soon as I get up or possibly before I go to sleep, as I mentioned, I don't know and that's why I am openly asking in here hoping that others can maybe give me some info if they know exactly what I am talking about.

Simple answer for a change, if in Ingland and something is advertised to do something, by law it must do what it says.

rumor states bleach kills 99% of germs, that way if one green germ is sitting In a green bottle, they don't end up in court for false advertising

Apart from this guy here "mark8393" I feel I really still need more information on this, I cant really understand exactly what mark8393 said there, as I mentioned, might be some typo errors that hes accidentally put in there, I don't know, if your around mate please give me a shout back.

I was also chatting to my mate who now lives in Australia and he says that he takes these little drinks every day for years and years now and said that very seldom does he get any problems at all with his guts.

I suppose the problem I am always going to have is that my diet is already so messed up and guts too, that makes me different from the normal/average person using these drinks, for instance, I never eat, just drink lager, where as the average person would at least take it easy on the booze for maybe a day or two at least per week, plus more than likely they would always be eating too, I'm not, that's the difference.

even the meds i am on can give me the runs on some days and if drinking could interfere with tablets, mate of mine works in a bar has gout and every now and again has a few sessions and promises to stop drinking,i have a yoplait drink after my breakfast and 1 a day.to cure your eating/drinking habits the body needs food either that or a wooden box soon.only you have the will power to act or not,we are here to help if needed.

Seriously, you need to make some changes before you're going to see improvement.

The Probiotic drinks are a waste of time. You can get the same benefit from eating normal yoghurts.

At this point I really should point something out to you. If you have nothing but liquid, you will only get liquid out.

                  Cut down on the drink

Eat high fibre foods (Oats, cereals, etc)

Stay away from tinned and processed foods whenever possible as these are full of fats & sugars that will cause squirty bum.

Look into the side effects of your drugs.

If you have IBS, do you know what triggers it off? For me it's fresh chili's. Even a minute amount will have me running to the porcelain god. Yet pickled or dried chili has no real effect on me.

You could also try taking an all-in-one vitamin. But to be honest the drink & lack of good food is the biggest thing.

most of these products do not contain enough probiotics they may have a few different kinds but certainly not them all, also go see a doctor !! you may have something like crohns or UC and taking probiotics or more fibre could make you worse not better ! I have crohns and uc with small bowl disease thrown into the mix I like you have forgot what its like too be solid but if you get checked out you might be able to get it under control. I hope for you it isn't crohns as the other symptoms can be very nasty.

Ok, I need to try and eat some stuff, I see various , infact, loads of contradicting web pages listing foods you should "only" eat if bothered with stomach/bug/Diarrhoea/etc (doesnt matter so much about what to avoid as I am not eating nuffin at all anyway), so we shall concentrate on "the only things I should be eating a little of".

I read on loads of web pages that the BRAT diet is the best food, that means Bananas, Rice, apple sauce (I hate anything apple, so forget that), and finally the T is for Dry Toast.

I had the Mrs go and buy me a load of all that stuff yesterday (apart from anything apple), but the main problem is, she got bananas, so thats ok although they aint ripe yet (still green), she bought standard cheap "White Long grain rice", I cant figure out exactly what type of rice it is that I should be eating as some of the ingreidents on the pack look like they could possibly not be a good idea at all, I.E - I see the words Fiber and I know that fiber is good but not when you have real bad guts, so when I seen that it put me off even trying the rice.

And she bought fresh white bread, noodles, some crackers, pretzels and things like that, but I see the words "wheat flour" and "corn flour" on all of them, so I read up about those types of flour and according to lots of web sites they say steer well clear of wheat and corn flour and also fiber too at least until symptems start to get better in the gut.

So basically now I am struggling, days and days have past now with no food at all apart from a Banana, and I think it looks like I will struggle to find the exact type of foods to eat because seemingly by the looks of it, everything looks like they contain potentially very dodgy stuff to eat, remember my stomach is as tender as ferk man, and as I said, hardly eat anything at all now in many days apart from that banana.

Hmmmm, this is going to be more difficult than I thought man, total nightmare, I can only imagine what life is like for poor people that have to watch what they eat very closely their whole lifes, it must be hard man, not good.

Unless someone can help me maybe please ? if not then I think I will need to start calling up them places that specialise in such things, and I know they wont be very forward at giving any info for free.

So I will see if someone who knows can give great advice on what it is I am asking here please, eh ? (another day or two I guess wont make much difference without food anyway after so long without it).

a lot of crohns sufferers use the SCD diet, but since every single person with crohns has different triggers there is no set in stone list of whats good and bad, for example my main triggers are peanuts spicy food and anything that's high fibre, but some days I can get away with spicy food it really is hit and miss. But if you get yourself looked at and it is crohns you can get meds to control and reduce your illness though when I started I went from the runs to being bunged up and massive stomach cramps.

It might not be chrons I can only comment about chrons as that's what I have, see a doc and get tested life is too short too spend all day on the loo trust me I know.
