Phone them back. Quote the stuff about changing the T&Cs, if they start playing hardball tell them you will be getting in touch with trading standards will all information and documents.

Just spoken to orange today and they told me the following:
They are not going ahead with the change in terms and conditions. Resulting in anyone wishing to cancel their contract in a fee.
Anyone who has had a disconnection reqquest honoured they will be so, free of charge.

i think that is how they are.
i cancel mine about a year ago when after signing a contract for 25 pounds a months that was supposed to covert the cost of the bt lane rental, my package was changed because they said i had fail their credit check and supprinsing that was 3 months after being in the contract.
i spend more thn 2 hours on the phone and have to speak to a supervisor in order to cancel my contract as they wanted me to pay the remaining of my contact. but after all that the agrre to cancel mine at not extra cost.

still because my landlane was passsed to virgin by bt i have to pay bt 75 pounds agai to have my lane reinstalled after the cancellation
