    Starbucks shaft marines

Just recieved a mail fwd from a friend.

Copied verbatim (names addresses removed however):

    To: "asdfg" <[email protected]>
    Date: Tuesday, 14 July, 2009, 11:23 AM

Recently, British Royal Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees, and to request that
they send some of it to the troops there.

Starbucks replied, telling the Royal Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it,
and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should support them by NOT buying any of their products!

I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground, fighting street-to-street and, house-to-house.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along.

Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.
    Sgt. Howard Wright,

1 Platoon, Recon Company, Royal Marines

PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS... PLEASE PASS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR E- MAIL LIST, IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE BEEN WOUNDED, LOST LIMBS AND EVEN DIED, SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE !

Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit, the fire fighters and
rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for the survivors and workers, and Starbucks CHARGED THEM!!!

AN ADDED NOTE TO THIS: STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS.

There are 227 Starbucks stores across the UK , and there's no doubt that our soldiers would get the same response from this company, so let us do our
bit and boycott Starbucks to show them how despicable their actions are.

This is from 2004 and untrue, somebody has obvioulsy dug it up and changed it to Royal Marines.. here's a copy of the 'original' supposed email from the US Marine Corps..

    Dear everyone:

Please pass this along to anyone you know, this needs to get out in the open. Recently Marines over in Iraq supporting this country in OIF wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffee and try to score some free coffee grounds. Starbucks wrote back telling the Marines thanks for their support in their business, but that they don't support the War and anyone in it and that they won't send them the Coffee.

So as not to offend them we should not support in buying any Starbucks products. As a War vet and writing to you patriots I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this War might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting street to street and house to house for what they and I believe is right. If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and I'll never know.

Thanks very much for your support to me, and I know you'll all be there again here soon when I deploy once more.

    Semper Fidelis,
    Sgt Howard C. Wright
    1st Force Recon Co
    1st Plt PLT RTO
Whoever has originated the email you were sent Chroma has done a right shit job as the Royal Marines dont have a '1 Platoon Recon Company'.. Its a cut and paste, and a poor one at that, from an American chain email dated 2004..

Here's a link to the Starbucks USA website.. if you look it also says that Sgt Howard C. Wright is in the USMC not the RM

I am in the British Military and I frequent Starbucks.. I have never seen any of the above when visiting in uniform by any manager or member of staff..

Its a a load of diaherra.. just type in marines told no by starbucks into any search engine and see the results..

Do people seriously think Royal Marines have coffe perculators in their burgens when out on patrol..?? Starbucks dont do Instant Coffee.. When you do get a minute to 'brew up' out on Ops its literally a minute..

Only a clueless 'civvi' could make such a hash as this.. If anything Royal Marines ask for signed pictures of naked page 3 girls not packs of coffee

If you get an email like this the best thing to do is respond to it and say its untrue and point them towards the internet..

STORIES LIKE THIS DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD TO THE MILITARY
