dk lake district camping thread.

ok dufs we are planning a trip to the lake district camping, now every one is welcome ( even meaty just joking meaty your more than welcome ) i have started this early so we can sort dates out places, camp sites, etc etc, so basically we are thinking about may june so the sites are not be to busy, BUT we want camp sites near-ish to striding edge/helvelyn , so what we want atm is people who are interested and what date you can make it for say 2 days, ( you can come for one day if you want ) please post if your interested, possible dates you can make it, suggestions of camp sites etc, me and elplicko will plot the routes we will be walking, now if you want to come these walks WILL be hard-ish walks i would say 8-10 miles but till we have plotted them we are not sure, so far we have me, elplicko, aftermath, and i am sure xant14.

sounds like a good adventure to me.

maybe make the walk near pubs so you can walk for a few hours and stop for refreshments, and if people had enough they can stay on the lash , the others can carry on the walk, see who can complete it. maybe make it a bit difficult as well the longer it goes on, the harder the challenge,

ON TOPIC:-

As there is plenty of time, walk the planned routes, make sure 3G access to log onto dk, then plan it, those that can't carry on, bus stop, train station etc on route, the walk ends there

would imagine there would be 3g as will be high up lot of the time, low down diff matter, tho camps sites tend to have wifi nowdays.

Yeah wifi you have to pay for.

Then again bit like donating to dk via post rather than PayPal costs ?6.50 extra in charges, but worth every penny.

I was told no dougs allowed camping in lake district, you need to go to Yorkshire dales and try a pint of Tetley!!!!

Now I love camping. But I have problems just walking around the house let alone 8-10 miles.
Any chance of driving the route instead? I'm sure Meaty could find a stripped out banger with no roof, working brakes and only 3 working cylinders.
