hi does anyone know of a prog that takes the words out of music so its like instumental long shot cheers

Look for the Karaoke version of the record. It generally has no vocals.

You can remove the voice from music manualy using a series of filters that cancel out a lot of the midrange frequencies but it will take you a loooong time and the results sond akin to music thats been coppied to a casette tape, then repeatedly copied over and over again till its all muffled.

I hear that DVD-A and SACD recordings sometimes come with multiple tracks, that is unmixed so you can effectively mix each track like the studio, ie amplify the drum track and guitar track whilst deminishing the vocal track...
Requires a new ger setup though and your straying into audiophile teritory where prices tend to be somewhat stupid.
