3D printers

Are there any other members that have 3d printers. Anyone interested but don't know enough to take the plunge.

I have a few, one I made, two I bought cheap off ebay and it's brilliant to just be able to make things. No more problems with broken kitchen cupboards or clips for the car, I just draw them and print a few off.

It's well worth getting into if you have an interest in making stuff.

You can buy a kit for around ?300 and off you go, lots of messing to get it working for the cheaper domestic ones but once they are calibrated they work really well.

One of mine is a Stratasys, it cost ?25,000 when new but now I have got my cheap one (?100 off ebay) sorted out it makes prints every bit as good as the expensive one though it will not print as big.

INTRESTING but see a vid on xhamster or something. Guy took hours to make cogs for a clock. Looks good buy lot of effort

Hopefully your printer takes the time, it doesn't involve you once it's running.

It may be time consuming making your drawing but in a lot of cases there is no other way to get what you need. It's much better than Araldite and dick tape for you hinge bits and knobs.

you are not kidding over the dick tape,thought I would have a look at meatheads suggestion and it turned out to be a **** site,3 hours wasted looking through it,no printers and now my wrist hurts,my right hand is callused and I feel knackered,gonna grab a couple of hours kip and see if I can find any on that site that I must have overlooked.

Nosher my other inganary friend mentioned hacking a bit of MPDE water pipe off and using it for the print material, Nosher is lisdexic so think he got the name slightly wrong.
