and that was same, now been thinking does the stihl strimmer use a coil
or a magneto to make the sparkplug spark ?????

have u sorted ur fault yet? If ur not getting spark then first thing to do is check stop/start wiring, make sure no breaks or damage and check terminal connection. If wiring is damaged it could be causing a short and stopping spark. If wiring ok then visually check flywheel for any breaks or being loose as this could affect gap at coil pick up. The gap between flywheel and this is should be no more than very thin piece of paper. If any bigger loosen securing bolts and adjust gap to correct gap, making sure the gap is not to small that flywheel wont hit it. If everything looks ok then strong possibility it could be coil. hope u manage to find fault

Check that you have not pulled the metal connection inside the rubber protection cable. This happens a lot when people remove the spark plug by pulling on the cable rather than pulling the plug protection rubber off properly. I had this problem with a lawn mower.

Take the cable off the plug and look inside the cable. If you can't see the metal part off the cable, or it is off centre then that is your problem. If so push the cable and wiggle it till you can see the round metal connection properly aligned to connect to the spark plug. Hope that is of some help.
