good for them as they dump boulders to thwart sweedish fishing fleet.its about time they started doing that in our waters ,it would stop greedy and unscrupulous skippers and boat owners from plundering our waters beyond repair.so i say support our green mps its time for change .oops im on ma soap box again.but it needs to be said.

I think the government needs to stop so called "green" taxes. The UK is responsible for 2.4% of global CO2 emissions and is ranked 25th in terms of CO2 emissions per capita. ( see CO2 Emissions (most recent) by country)

Of this 2.4%, cars are responsible for 11.5% of the UKs CO2 emissions (see Car CO2, Carbon Dioxide, Emissions Fall Again - VisitCars.co.uk). Which means UK cars are responsible for 0.276% of world CO2 emissions. You can see in this article that the 11.5% has come down from 12.4% since 2000. After a few sums, this means that all the government's "Green" taxes on people who can't afford a brand new car have reduced global emissions by a whopping total of 0.0216%, in other words, damn all. The green agenda is an excuse to tax us all and nothing more.

hod the bus we are chocking the planet here co2 emisions are just the tip of the iceberg economic greed will destroy the planet ,we are using up resorces that the planet cant replace.why do you think oil is up petrol is up and so on we have become a throw away society.i started this thread on the pretex that greenpeace are doing a great job in highlighting the plight of marine life .if we and other nations keep plundering the seas we will run out of fish before the end of the next decade.oil is now becoming the excuse for war and soon water will be in short supply .so we have to cut down and really soon.our economy is based on greed ,why do you think we are in a ressesion.and we the ordinary folk who never caused this are having to suffer the consiquences.wake up people before we cant do anything to stop our demise.and dont get me started on china.

Anyone who lived in the forties and fifties will laugh at this global warming hysteria, as I do. Compared to those days the UK is like a sterile laboratory. You went out at night with a white shirt on(You would not dare wear a coloured shirt). within ten minutes the collar and the inside of your nose was black with soot. Every house had at least one coal or wood burning fire. We had thousands of factories. If I get some more time I'll explain to the younger memebers what a factory was.

Very True! and one day we will have another Ice age.

As far as green peace --- how much damage did they do to the natural order of things by throwing boulders big enough to stop a boat into a water way? And the fishing fleets don't want to deplete our resources -- if there are no more fish they are out of a job!

How the world will end.

Carbon will build up in our atmosphere which is natural in quantities enough to supply plantlife with food.

This will trap in heat causing an increase in the greenhouse effect (Not a natural effect in the grand sceme of our planetary warming/freezing cycle) and instead of taking millenia to complete a cycle the earth will compete an ice age > hote spike > ice age in a matter of centuries, falling off to decades, effectively killing all plantlife on earth.
heat will spike because theres less carbon being absorbed and your now on the runaway train.

This heat will kill of the carbon cycle (without plantlife to absorb the carbons we're essentaly f**ked) the heat will continue to rise as radiation gets absorbed instead of reflected by our atmosphere and will reach a point where dioxides, monoxides, hydrocarbons and flurocarbons get released from the rocks.
By this point the seas will boil up into steam, causing reactions with the atmosphere and increasing its density further.
The density of the atmosphere will increase in density from 1 atmosphere at sea level to imploding beercans in a matter of weeks, getting exponentialy worse till our atmosphere will crush almost anything at sea level. (you ever seen movies where submarines dive too deep and wind up getting cubed? same thing only on the planets surface)
By this point the sun will no longer be visable through the dense clouds of carbons, not that this will make it cold, on the contrary your face will melt off if you where still alive to venture out into the friendly boiling vapor.
Water will have floated out into space as a superheated plasma by then and the planet will begin to crack from the pressure of its overheated core causing all kinds of violence from volcanic activity and magma desperately tries to cool off and solidify, soon the earth will be reduced to nothing more than a carbon gas ball surrounding a boilng liquid iron center.

With no way of getting rid of the abundance of carbons the planet is doomed just like our neighbour Venus

this of course wont happen overnight, certainly not within my lifetime, or my kids, but my grndchildren will certainly begin to feel the effects.
With the way the planets headed i give it 500years tops before it winds up royaly f**ked.
