I have not been on that much the last 2 days, thats if anyone has noticed. I have been getting myself a new toy to play with, and its not as easy as i thought it would be, but i am starting to win my battle with it, .

I think I'd be the same if I'd just got a new toy like that aswell. So you're forgiven.

Looks very nice and I'm sure it won't take you long to get it set up the way you want it.

p.s. you're bird feeder needs filled up.

Am toying with sat myself, just concerned with running the cables some distance.
How far is your cable run to reciever?does it have any detrimental affect on signal etc?
how much for dish?out of 10 initial setup how hard?etc, etc, etc
Checkout the RED stickies massive amount of info and effort been put into them.

My dish is 20m away from my receiver and i get SNR of 96% on the big satellites. Id say setup for me was about 6 or 7 out of 10 but then its never perfect first time. I think the first week of my satellite going up i spent hours tweaking it here and there.

If you are going the satellite route id suggest going for a dreambox as im sure you are familiar with them and offer easy cardshare capability.

I think in total i paid ?200 that was for my clone DM500S, 1m satellite dish, 20m cable, motor, brackets and a bolts etc.

If you are getting one i also suggest paying ?5 for the wee satellite detector thing as they saved me hours of hassle.

I have my dish sited at the bottom of the garden 20m from my dreambox on top of 12' scaffolding pole. My cable lead is currently running diagonally on my lawn and it is turning into a bit of pain when mowing the grass so I am looking to peg it onto my fence and this likely to be about 35m. Similar to ice2004 I spent about ?200 for satellite setup, the cable that they send with the dish etc is supposed to be the cheap rubbish that you get at B&Q but S*y apparently refuse to use with their setups. Hope DF is ok with this external link but if you want to do it right for the long term than you need to use CT100 cable.
