Hi all, I am thinking of have these solar pannels installed at my house for electric and hot water. Anyone on here had any experiance with these and or used them.

i looked into it once seemed like a lot of money to just heat the water up imo and also it doesnt do all your hot water needs just around 70% of it i also belive it doesnt do your heating either so you only save on hot water used and still need gas or electric for heating so not worth the money for me
it would be great to be self suffcient and not at the mercy of fluctuating power prices but i dont believe there is anything that is anywhere near cost efficient

Thats not what the solar pannel company told me.
They said it will take just 5 years to get my money back!
they just cant stop telling porkies just to get a sale!

I looked into this a few weeks back. Time to pay back depends alot on your location. If you live in say.... Spian. Nice hot place, plenty of sun shine. You could be making a saving after as little as 2 years. If you live in the north of Scotland. Your great grand children could still be paying it off if the installation lasts that long.
