    Samsung UN39FH5000FXZA LCD TV problem

This started out intermittently, then got progressively worse, now it takes many cycles for it to work.

Turn TV on with the remote or the power button and it makes the Samsung powerup noise and backlighting comes on but nothing on the screen. After about 15 seconds, it will cycle through the powerup again. Will keep cycling through powerup and sometimes will come on and work fine till turned off. When it is doing this, you can't turn it off to stop this, it has to be unplugged. Plugging it back in results in the same cycling by itself.

No swelled caps on the PS board, and all voltages seem to be normal and stable at 5.25V and 13.05V.

Unplugging the main board cable at the PS results in the power supply coming on, with backlighting on and all voltages for the main board cable reading normal.

When the TV finally comes on and you shut it down with the remote, the 5V standby voltage is present and stable.

Tried unplugging the power on button just in case, with no difference.

One thing I should mention, the two test points indicated in pic read 13V during cycling, the one marked 13V goes to 0V when cycling, then back up, but the one marked 15V cycles up to 15V.

Is this going to be a main board issue or PS?

Any ideas or info would be appreciated.

Sounds like psu without testing can't be 100% but capacitors don't always bulge when they are knackered. You could take them out and test them or you could buy a recon psu board same numbers for about ?15 or $15 depending where you shop. Probably cheaper than replacing capacitors. I assume the tv started eventually and picture came on etc etc. hth

Update: Checked voltages on Power Supply board, all good. PS on signal from main board switching on and off indicating main board problem. Replacing main board solved the problem.
