Off Grid electric/power, have you sorted yours out yet ?

Far as I am aware people can go off grid and generate their own electricity with some solar panels and/or mini turbine/s etc that generate power which in turn is saved to batteries stored somewhere within the grounds of the property (saves paying energy companies).

Anyways, if people are allowed as they should be (I think) to do this, has anyone done it yet that is a user on here, its all fully legal etc, I was watching a tv programme last night and the person put all that stuff in and will save a fortune, so that's why I want to know, saves paying mega money prices to the main power suppliers like most of us do, know what I mean ?

Ok, I will wait and see if anyone has the knowledge about it, cheers lads

mini turbines fairly cheap 500-1000? just seen, ya would save that in no time, np fitting solar panels but can see problems with the council regaurding planning permission fur wind turbines.

i have solar panels for water heating and seen a decline in production as less hot water due to bad weather, would power output be the same scenario.did i hear its getting colder and an ice age coming in the next 30+ years ?

But I am sure they are built to run in even cloudy/rainy skys etc mate are they not ?? and if ya have quite a few of them and batteries to match then I assume that would give you plenty saved electricity. no ? I know that's the idea anyway, are yours working ok and do you have them titled mostly towards southern skys ??

Also, a mini turbine is meant to be real good too for doing the same job, but I dunno, that's why I posted a message up about it on here hoping some people like yourself or others would mention what
type of experiences they are having with the equipment

Solar panels in places where you get sunshine ideal it's when you stay in a country like ours you have to do your homework and make sure you buy the best type of panel for converting even when it's cloudy. I think if everyone started generating their own they'd be quick with a few laws regarding health and safety. wind power is great too and we do get plenty of it being an island. The big companies have not returned any savings they have made over past couple of years buying cheap gas and fuel in but if you get a cold winter they'll shove it right up everyone and bang prices up.

that's because your talking aboot the loonnydern governments of all colours, they aint got a clue, Scotland is probably the best placed country on the entire planet for renewable fuels mate incase ya didnae know
(Scottish government is doing best they can to promote clean energy that will be massively cheaper in the long run, idiots in loonydern governmeant are trying to promote nuke power and weapons, go figure man)
