    How ridiculous is this???

Been having some chest pains last few days, so thought go see the GP Monday morning 9 am as its no appointments free session.
Gets there and the waiting room is full to the brim with people and the nurse informs me that :

nurse. no more patients can be seen today.
me. Monday AM is free session, open to ALL without appointments.
nurse. Sorry, too many people already here so I cannot put your name on the list, and the doctor hasen't arrived yet.(open sessions????? BO!!@CKS)
me. Sorry not my problem & I need to see the doctor URGENT.
nurse. you have to make an appointment for another day.
me. when is the next available appointment?
nurse. Thursday, between 6.30 to 7.30 pm.
me. I cannot make it then, that's why I have come now!
nurse. no sorry, make an appointment as you cannot be seen by the doctor.
    me. *&$%?^!:?)(&%^?$&%?$%%(%$$((?@:>$"!"&(!!!

    What a p!ss take.
4 days before you can get an appointment to see your GP.
I hope I havent had a heart attack & dropped dead by then!
SLOWLY, OUR FREEDOM IS BEING ERASED.
SOON, WE WILL JUST BE A NUMBER.
IF WE DON'T FOLLOW, WE WILL BE ERASED.

Absolute crap but I hope you went straight to A&E as you shouldn't be hanging about waiting to see what happens next.

you should hav phoned 999 for ambulance they would hav given you an ecg to make sure ya ticker is ok, when i had a heart attack in feb ( didnt know i was having one just had chest pains ) i phoned the docs they rang be back within a few mins and told me to phone 999 and the paramedics will check you out, it dont matter if it turns out your not having a heart attack its best to be safe, this is what the nurse told me, just happens i was having one.

oh i was being sick as well and getting short of breath, heart attacks can hav no symptoms at all.

Chest pains are supposed to be a priority - in fact any life threatening illness is supposed to be - people with colds, sore throat, twisted ankle etc... are not suffering possible life threatening symptoms. You'll know in future to bypass that surgery and go straight to casualty or phone the emergency service - it's your service so use it, much better than death, stroke or heart attack - an emergency ambulance coming to you does not automatically mean you are going to be moved to hospital - the medics check you out completely before you are moved, and they appreciate your call out if you are genuinely ill. You should really have a meeting with the surgery head and ask them what is classed as a priority - I think you will find the barrier you got was overstepping their authority without asking a Doctor.

I'll take that. At my GPs, book a appointment get seen two weeks later. Mind you to be fair it was voted (in a nhs survey) the worst practice in uk. To be honest with chest pains you should go to AE, and sit with druggies/drunks.

Surveys are set up so that you give the answer they want anyway. It's like the one from the government, DVLA for road fund licensing. "Would yu recommend our site to friends/family etc..." what other f**king choice is there for taxing your car or motorcycle on line ffs. So they'll always score 100% or people would recommend our site *shrug*

Yes, that is really ridiculous. Next time I would call the nurse line and see if they can call your dr. office and tell them that you have to be seen. But if it was that serious I would of just went to the er room. But I hope you feel better and it wasnt anything serious or bad. Hope you can get up soon and have a drink.

                            Cheers!

                              not better in france !
my baby felt from my bed on the floor (sry for my language please)
I drove him to hospital and I waited more than hour before making papers, then i waited another hour, he had a trauma !! had a scanner and stay in observation all the night.
                              he had luck.
during this time, i saw drunk drivers coming with policemen in order to check their alcoholism, those men had the priority !

                              it's a shame.
                              we are all numbers
