Looking to buy a house alarm system.

I currently have a hard wired home alarm systems with several pir's, window vibration sensors, door contacts etc etc.

Iam going to be needing a new system soon but iam hating the thought of all the wires and fuss etc, so i thought about a wireless system, but i dont know if they are any good, are they ?? and how do they work, i dont fancy having to replace batteries all the time in the pir's and bellbox, i just want summit really basic, dont need all the bells n whistles like this current system, just maybe need two pir's the mains box/keypad and the entry/exit door contact thingy i guess ??, ohh, and a real bellbox and a fake one.

anyone any input on this please ?

I brought one of those 'new build' houses in 2001 and the first thing we did was put in an alarm system. The people that came and fitted the system made sure none of the wires show anywhere in the house. We haev a PIR in evry room downstairs buit all the wires are hidden away behind the plasterboard. Why not give one of these proffesional outfit a call and see what they can do for you.

nah man, not an option, been there before mate, too much hassle and generally more expensive, it has to be wireless, dont get me wrong, i would love it to be hard-wired but its a no-no.
