    funny money

me and my long haired one decided to visit friends in suffolk, which meant crossing the border into england from scotland. took in a visit to ipswitch stopped at a pub for a couple of beers, the pub was called the plough tendered a ?10 note to pay for the drinks. bartender shook his head, tried a ?20 again a shake of head checked my notes they were scottish went into a rant how it is written on notes sterling which should be accepted in the uk. all this time the bartender never said a word after a one way moan a guy standing next to me said he would exchange one for me as he worked in a bank? got in touch with manager via feedback who said he would raise it at a staff meeting and said he was sorry. this chain has over two hundred pubs they should have a policy of accepting sterling notes ps i voted to stay in the uk

Think yourself lucky that you voted to stay, because with the drop in oil prices, they would be big cuts in the Scottish budget.

scotland has its own budget, and at present the drop in oil prices are factored in
