Back on topic. Why don't the unions realise that this provocation happens everytime an election is looming? Anything to switch a few floating voters to vote conservative. The best thing the union could do now is postpone strike action till after Xmas so that the public do not suffer too much.

Personally I am unaffected, no bills/junk mail is the best bit like the other guys have said.. However i do think its foolish of the workers to do this as its just making the decreasing customer base move to the competition.. Royal Mail's systems are needing to be modernised to be more efficient, all companies have to go through this.. Its modernise or die.. Its the way of the world, sometimes you just gotta take these things on the chin and remember that jobs for life are basically a thing of the past.. For a company to crawl along with equipment thats out of date and on its arse just to keep people employed until the company is bankrupt is not good, we all bitched and moaned enough about bailing out banks we do not need another one..

No I don't work for them, just an average joe with an view..

its already been done by An Post in Ireland the modernisation but we didnt take a pay cut aswell.It worked out fine in the end but was a lot of grief between unions and management as it went on...but no cash reduction.Royal Mail are right to go out,things are not bad enough without the fat cats taking more cash from postal workers pockets.Well done lads.

I was watching Gmtv this morning and they were interviewing the owner of a small business and she was moaning about how the strike will affect her. ~~~~~~!! Whats the point of going on strike if it's NOT going to affect people ?
I'm 100% behind the postal workers and **** the 30,000+ scabs who want to cross a picket line and shit on the workers. Tory values live on in them

Although initially I disagreed with the strike, I do agree that Royal Mail have acted appallingly. They have treated the workforce like sh!t. Just iin case there are any on the forum reading this, I wish all the postal workers well and urge them not to give in to Crozier's bullying. Keep striking until he has no choice but to give in. Stay strong, because if you show any kind of weakness the Tories will walk all over you when you get iinto power.

time to ruin another British company by the sounds of it then.. Bullying in the workplace is no new thing if anything its far less than in the past due to laws that protect employees, its just reported on more these days since the advent of the internet. We all have to work more hours and take on more tasks, just get on with it and stop bitching.. There are plenty of people out there who apparently do want jobs and will work plenty of hours to do it.. British Airways workers all worked a month for free this year, many other high profile manufacturing companies are putting in extra hours with pay freezes to keep their businesses.. Hell everybody I know have not had a pay rise in ages and will not get one for a couple of years, in the past we have accepted pay cuts, if they get hassle they speak to the right people and sort it not wine about it, they do not walk out and hold a country to ransom and damage their own company that is battling to stave of the competition...

I see 'working practises' being a big gripe but has anybody any ideas or know of where this is detailed as its still a little vague..
