i always buy a board game for xmas day. just wondered if anyone can recommend any, i have millionaire, deal or no deal, family fortunes, connect 4. play your cards right etc. it needs to be a board game not a cd or dvd game.

im no very good at word games . countdown is my fav game as anyone can play that and im good with numbers. my sister would whoop my ass at scrabble . id like a music game. im no good at history or geography as well . im shit hot at connect 4 and sudoku mind

Operation is fun after a few drinks.

Not really a board game but Kerplunk is great fun with the kids. I'm personally looking forward to Guitar Hero this Christmas. Have fun whatever you decide to buy.

The best board game ever is The Settlers of Catan. It's hard to find but Ive seen it in Waterstones and Borders so I'd try there first. Otherwise a specialst games shop.

I discovered this game when I was living in Germany in the late 90s. It won Game of the Year in Germany in 1995. That might sound a bit Mickey Mouse, but the Germans take their board games seriously and it is a top top game. You won't be disappointed.
