Nowadays i collect hardcore ~~~~ography... i mean "art films." 861 Exabytes and counting
      Also:
      Inches on my waist.
      Cholesterol in my arteries.
      Dust.
      Years and of course WISDOM.

All joking aside however, i guess id say 1st edition books primarily (they smell wonderfull)

I've got a mint condition set of 1st edition base set (all 102) pokemon cards that should be worth a few bob eventualy to some nutcase collector.
The reason for this is down to work, i worked in a call center many moons ago (possibly conversed with opsmonkey asking for a service call or looking to talk to some guardhouse in brecon barracks) anyway days where long and tedious and we where allowed to play games between calls, elaborate card games became a favourite (Magic, Pokemon, Shadowrun and the likes) and i noticed that these cards where highly valuable (some guy was really into it and had magazines with price listings for cards, some prices would blow your mind) and quickly cashed in on trading as many as i could to complete a set to store in sleves in a ringbinder in a sealed bag wrapped in bubblewrap to be forgotten till i was old and retired.
1sts where extremely limited (and numbered), so as time goes on and cards get traded, lost and destroyed the values only go up in accordance to the rarity. some of the early Wizards of the Coast "Magic" stuff in mint condition sells for mad money A "Black Lotus (A)" sells currently on average for $1925.99. apparently

I cant say im really hardcore into collecting, the books i just buy when i stumble across em in bookshops and the cards a relic of the past that seemed a good investment opportunity.

      Nice question though.

i collect disney classic dvds and their follow ups - now collecting them on blu ray.

couple of the girls have got me willow tree angels so im starting to collect them.

used to collect cherished teddies but couldnt keep up with all the releases.

then moved onto me to you ceramic bears but again too many got released.

ive collected U2 stuff for nearly 30 yrs. everything from 7" and 12" singles, tour programmes, cds, cd singles, cassette singles, propaganda mags (they used to be from u2 fan club), dvds, videos, blu ray etc
