Anyone here enjoy watching the TV series 24 ?

This is one show that I understand how and why it became so popular, it's ~~~~ing awesome. Consistently. The show is just plain well made and very exciting week after week or episode after episode. Plus it features great acting - Kiefer Sutherland is immense....and this show features probably more twists and turns than is probably healthy.

For the longest time I had heard of 24 and it's popularity but never watched it, once I finally did I became hooked instantly the program was that good. I didn't watch it until the first episode of season 5 but unfortunately after a few episodes I was no longer able to watch the show. But now I have seen season 6 in it's entirety and I am watching the shows in retrospect...I can't wait for season 7 to hit our screen but unfortunately it may not come around until early 09.

This program is still awesome though. Best series on telly by a country mile.

I actually thought season 6 was a little weak, but I thought that S5 was absolutely awesome though. I remember having a 10 episode marathon with that one. Quality!

I watched the 1st one and was blown away at the new concept of how it was done....why on earth I never watched another series I will never know. I will maybe try and find seasons 2-6 and watch it, I have plenty of time before the next season starts.

I don't mean for this to be a spoiler of any kind for season 7 but consider this a spoiler warning, read no further if you wish to have absolutely zero information on season 7 before it airs.............................................. ...

Now that the warning is out of the way for those concerned, it's not so much of a spoiler but I thought it necessary to warn people anyway......in any case the season premiere of season 7 is going to air in January 2009, and it is going to be set 4 years in the future from where season 6 left off and will start off with Jack being dark - living life under the radar - in Africa, how and why I do not know.....the specifics of season 7 other than this I do not know except for one thing - the character Chloe now has a 4 year old daughter in the upcoming season. This may be common knowledge for some or alot of people, nontheless I felt it necessary to update people on the starting point for season 7.

Now on the subject of season 6 I remember recently watching that whole season and it's true that season 5 holds up at least equally as well....so maybe I am thinking season 6 may have been weaker by previous seasons comparisons since at no point did I find season 6 to be anything less than riveting - same as season 5 really.

Kiefer Sutherland for me steals the show, he doesn't hog the spotlight but he does light up every scene he is in with his performances.....but I think the best thing that I like about the show apart from all the twists and turns is that somehow episode after episode they all end in such a way that you think wow I have to see what happens next....which is great if you have the whole season to watch for the first time for obvious reasons.

Also I think it's just aswell that 24 is so popular considering Sutherland's recent jail time for drink driving, since by all accounts he was close to losing his job and therefore 24 was close to going under. If this was the case then the popularity of 24 saved his job and Kiefer Sutherland should and apparently does count his blessings and realise that he made a stupid mistake.

All the information I have posted is either simply my opinions or is information that I obtained which I am passing on, basically it's all just what's been reported.

In any case I can't wait for season 7 I am just gutted it's not on til January .

Altough season 7 doesnt start until 2009 there is a tv movie of 24 called Exile which is a prequel to season 7 and comes out in the Autumn. Theres a trailer at the bottom of this post.

Exile is a prequel to the seventh season of the series, which will premiere in January, following a full year delay caused by the writers' strike. The main story of Exile follows Jack in Africa, where he and an old friend (played by Robert Carlyle) end up teaming to stop a brutal militia group. Meanwhile, back in the U.S., we follow what is occurring as the new president (Cherry Jones) is inaugurated.
