dont bother
no seriously m8 unless you are getting a busy pub that does good meals i wouldnt bother the pub game is a dying trade and they are closing everyday think wisely dont get a franchise cos you will make next too nothing
buy a pub if possible and make sure its in a excellent location and you do top notch food because your rep will grow and people will travel to you
stay at home supermarket drinkers and smoking ban have ruined pubsComment

it all helps. but will not aid you getting a license
even in good times. the return, to managers, in the trade is woeful. and pub company's swap around good managers, so they cant get a foothold. effectively, dumping on their career.dont bother

time has passed now, but i bet figures are no better now than when i did it.
15% (turnover) if the company pays staff. but they keep you so low on staff, you work 18-20 hours, 7 days a week.
19% if you pay your own staff. but, the more work you do, the more of it, you keep. and try to keep a family and pay a mortgage on that!
the only place you will make any real money is on food. but again the company's make massive extra charges there too. or demand THEY run the food section.
if you can buy a "free hold" pub. are or have a "qualified" chef. there is money to be made. otherwise, you take all the $hit. do all the work and get peanuts. which is why there are so many monkeys, running pubs!Comment

yup have to agree i know people who have run pubs and they got out some of em even had to take on other jobs to make ends meet i know one person who had to go to work in ireland for almost a full year whilst his wife stayed running the pub just too keep it afloat then came home and had too get ridit all helps. but will not aid you getting a license
