christmas cards

Negative, i dont think ive ever actualy sent a card at christmas in my life, just never bought into the whole idea.

The only cards i do use are birthday cards for close family and friends, even then thats stretching it.

just a card for my wife, sister and mum... everybody else can whistle for it.. when i was a nipper i wanted to send them to everybody but thesedays i don't.

going of subject a little, i love seeing kids open birthday cards the ones with money in get a brief look when the money falls out, the one's with nowt in just get flung ..

my ex didnt do cards either but always asked me to do one for his mum, sister, brother etc!!

am not sure why I stopped sending them... I guess it was because of a combination of reasons... firstly the way christmas, valentines, easter etc has become so comercialised that it sometimes feels like 'commercial blackmail' if you do not 100% embrace the idea (or what it has now become).. Not so long back the tree huggers were banging on about how many trees needed to be chopped down to support this chrimbo card thing along with all the wrapping paper etc. I am quite happy to use that as an excuse when it suits me..... Lastly i guess i can also conlude that I am not that bothered about chrimbo, its just a few days of work, this year will be first time in the last five that will have stayed in the UK and I am not looking forward to it really... Maybe I am just a miserable ole git...

And i do write christmas cards, around 80 i think last year, but i wish i didnt have to!

I send to direct relatives of mine and his, but I stopped sending to everyman and his dog about 6 or 7 years ago and put the money that I saved from buying cards and stamps into a charity tin.

The cards I do buy I buy from a charity shop.
